The Schoolbooks schemes that have been introduced will remove the cost from families of funding schoolbooks for children and young people. These schemes provide funding for pupils and students enrolled in both recognised primary schools and special schools, and in Junior Cycle programmes in post-primary schools in the Free Education Scheme.
The 2024/2025 Programme in St Angela’s College, Sligo, is offering a Post-Graduate Certificate/Diploma of Teacher Professional Learning for Teachers working with Students with Special Educational Needs (Autism) in collaboration with the National Council for Special Education (NCSE) for teachers of Autistic students. In accordance with programmes being offered by the college, the programme is now accredited by ATU. All new teachers who register will be accredited by ATU, and will lead to an award of a Post-Graduate Certificate/Diploma in Special Educational Needs (Autism).
